As a general rule, most of your ground herbs and spices will stay fresh for about a year if stored correctly. Whole spices have a longer shelf-life and can hold their flavor for about three years. Spices that are stored correctly remain fresher for longer.

There is, unfortunately, no good way to save fruit that is half-rotten.
